Description
The SB range of clamshells are utilised in a vast number of industries ranging from tube and pipe production environments to power and process plant maintenance and offshore decommissioning applications. The models in this range cut for ¼” through 12” tube and pipe with 2 variants in design, collets mounting ‘SBCM’ and pad mounting tools with either self-centring or fully adjustable pads for precise centring, where required. Star wheels on the toolboxes of the lathes allow for incremental, precise feed of the tool bits giving controlled cut depth with every rotation. All of the SB range of tooling has the ability to utilise socket weld removal and counter bore attachments (except the 602TSB).
Each of the tools in the SB range offers specific benefits and individual features. The 601SBM and 602.5SBM have tool modules which require very little axial (along the pipe) or radial (around the pipe) clearance to operate. The 602TSB weld cut out tool is designed to be used where there is very tight radial clearance such as boiler tube applications in bundles. The 602TSB has the lowest radial clearance of any clamshell in the marketplace. The 604SB – 612SB have become a favourite with personnel in many of the industrial sectors including the power generation, nuclear and off shore, due to the ease of use and dependability in harsh conditions with minimal requirements for maintenance and adjustment.
