Welding Equipment Calibration
General Welding Supplies’ fully qualified technical team undertake the calibration, verification and validation of welding machines and ancillary equipment to ensure that the welding process variables are within standard during fabrication.
Compliance of Arc Welding Equipment
n addition to managing cost and reducing rework by ensuring fitness for purpose our calibration checks on welding machines support the quality of the finished fabricated product. Calibration of Welding equipment can be built in to our regular maintenance schedule of your equipment.
- Calibration on all makes of welding equipment
- Standard service contracts at 3, 6 or 12 monthly intervals
- PAT Testing
We offer a total solution to welding equipment calibration requirements.
Our highly qualified service and repair team have all the up to date training and latest technology to deal with your welding machine calibration requirements swiftly and effectively.
Gas Welding Safety Inspections
The Health and Safety at Work act requires employers, including the self employed, to ensure that gas welding equipment is maintained in a safe condition. Having your gas welding equipment examined with supporting documented evidence of the inspection result is the recommended method of demonstrating compliance.
GWS Gas Welding Equipment Inspectors
General Welding Supplies have a fully trained team of qualified gas welding equipment inspectors. We carry out certified inspections on all types of gas welding equipment, gas installations and associated gas control products. Inspection are undertaken in accordance with the industry codes of practice and guidance notes set out in the British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) Code of Practice 7.
Gas Welding Equipment Maintenance & Repair
The maintenance and repair of gas welding equipment must only be undertaken by competent persons who are trained in testing the equipment on completion. Maintenance of gas welding equipment is a requirement of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations. There is a legal requirement on business owners and managers to ensure this is carried out. It is also strongly recommended that written records of maintenance are kept.
The GWS Inspection and Maintenance Service
GWS offer a comprehensive planned maintenance and inspection service which gives a professional and convenient “one-stop-shop” solution to maintaining and inspecting gas welding equipment. Our Engineers carry out maintenance as detailed in the BCGA CP 7 Guidance on Maintenance, taking into account manufacturers/suppliers recommendations.
Engineer Requirements for Gas Welding Equipment
Annual maintenance shall be carried out by a suitably trained person. Such training will be formally recorded and include the following topics:
- Sufficient practical experience of oxy-fuel gas equipment.
- Theoretical knowledge of the functioning of the equipment, the properties of gases used, the potential defects and hazards which may occur, and their importance to the integrity and safety of the equipment.
