Description
The model 301SP is a system which is ideal for the squaring of tube assemblies; microfittings, and where the gripping of short lengths of tubing is required. Designed for the squaring of tube for autogenous welding processes it is possible to carry out facing and squaring operations of tube and microfittings with one machine. The 301SP system is an adaptation of the standard 301 system with a QC quick collet system able to grip lengths of pipe of as little as 3/16” straight length. Accepting all of the standard 301 tooling and having all of the similar attributes; cleanroom safe, portable or bench mounted. The micrometre feed indicator and excellent visibility of the cutting head make this machine extremely easy to operate to the highest of integrity.
The high torque motor delivers excellent finish on all types of materials including exotic alloys without damaging electro-polished surfaces.
The compact and lightweight 301SP can be set up with minimal operator effort with the QC quick collet OD mount saddles gripping the full outside surface whilst rounding out any imperfections in the tube or fittings during machining operations. This OD mount process cn be accomplished on a length as little as 0.60” (15.2mm) with the standard 301 system. With the 301SP the required length of tube for the adequate grip is reduced to 0.190” (4.8mm).
Another feature incorporated in the 301SP systems is the decreasing rate cam feed which moves the tool bit forward quickly at the beginning of the feed action and then progressively slows this feed down during the machining process producing an overall feed length of 0.200”. An air clamping system is available for more demanding, high productivity operations.
